SCInet WAN Connections
This year’s focus was on utilizing the 100GE connections from the ShowFloor to the Univ of Victoria, Univ of Michigan and Caltech. Also ordered were DarkFiber Inter Booth connections.
100GE Connections
1 x dedicated 100GE to the Univ of Victoria
1 x 100GE Univ of Michigan
1 x dedicated 100GE to Caltech
1 x shared 100GE used for CERN/Brazil/KNU University
DF Connections
1 x DF connection to the Vanderbilt Booth
1 x DF connection to the iCAIR/LAC Booth
1 x DF connection to the Michigan Booth
1 x DF connection between iCAIR/LAC Booth and Vanderbilt
Network InterConnect
Padtec Lightpad optical infrastructure interconnected Caltech, iCAIR and Vanderbilt booths with a total of 10 x 100G light paths as shown in the picture below. External connections were terminated mostly on the Brocade switch.
WAN Diagram
This diagram shows in general the external sites involved in the data transfers.
Rack Layout
Caltech Booth hosted two racks of switching and server equipment along with two racks of Padtec optical equipment as shown in the picture below. Caltech also provided the optical, switching equipment and and servers for iCAIR/LAC and Vanderbilt booths as shown in the pictures below.
